Hair Removal

Two types of wax are used for hair removal - hot and warm.

Hot wax (melts in a wax warmer at a temperature of about +55°C, applied hot):

• is used on sensitive areas;
• is applied with a wooden spatula in a medium layer;
• is removed in the opposite direction of hair growth.

Residue wax is removed with special products, and the effect of hair removal lasts from 2 weeks to a month.

Warm wax (melts in special cassettes at a temperature of +45°C):

• is most often used for hair removal on the legs and arms;
• is applied with a roller from the cassette;
• is removed using paper strips.

Warm wax quickly cools down to body temperature and does not have time to have a noticeable effect on the veins, avoiding trauma to closely located vessels.

The use of a special device can remove unwanted hair for up to 5 years. The action of the laser hair removal method is based on the destruction of the hair follicle, which explains the long duration of the effect.

Laser hair removal:

• is suitable for any area of the body and any area;
• is painless, although it may cause some discomfort;
• does not damage the skin.

The only inconvenience may be that to achieve the desired effect, a course of 6-8 sessions will be required. Also, the laser is not very effective on light and gray hair.

Contraindications for Hair Removal

Despite the fact that modern hair removal methods are generally safe, there are still some relative limitations. The master needs to know the client's medical history, as some diseases or conditions are direct contraindications to the procedure.

When you should not do waxing or sugaring:

Do not schedule hair removal if there are wounds, cuts, or inflammation in the area where unwanted hair grows. You should wait until they are completely healed.

Relative contraindications for waxing or sugar hair removal include:

• The first and last trimesters of pregnancy. During these times, women experience increased sensitivity, so the procedure can be more stressful than usual.
• Diabetes (decompensated stage). In this condition, the skin heals much worse and longer, and the risk of infection increases.
• HIV and AIDS. These conditions significantly reduce immunity, so any possibility of infection should be eliminated.
• Cancer. People who are battling this disease are at much higher risk of side effects such as allergies, infections, and dermatitis.
• A history of herpes. This disease may not manifest itself until the wax or paste "activates" it and transfers the infection to clean areas, especially in the case of deep bikini waxing.
• Severe varicose veins. Additional "stimulation" through mechanical or thermal effects on this area is not advisable.

Also, it's worth noting that some wax or paste compositions (rare, but it happens) can cause allergies.

Contraindications for Laser Hair Removal

The list of contraindications for laser hair removal is more extensive. In addition to those mentioned above, it includes:

• The entire period of pregnancy - the result of laser exposure on the fetus is not studied;
• Internal diseases;
• Acute respiratory infections, flu, and other infectious diseases;
• Chronic skin diseases such as psoriasis, dermatitis, and more;
• Presence of tattoos in the area where hair grows;
• Taking drugs that increase photosensitivity;
• Cases of vitiligo in the family.

Laser hair removal is not recommended for clients under 18 years of age. For 2-4 weeks before the procedure and for 2-3 weeks after, it is advisable to refrain from visiting the beach and tanning beds.

Clients should not hide any problems from specialists. After all, based on them, the master will be able to select the optimal method of hair removal that will be most effective and safe for your specific case.
